Hakan Fidan Engages in Doha Talks, Türkiye Pledges Support for Qatar

In a bid to bolster their strategic ties, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held high-level discussions with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha. The meetings centered on enhancing cooperation between the two nations and addressing significant regional issues.

Türkiye reiterated its steadfast support for Qatar, underscoring a commitment to strengthening the alliance between the two countries. Discussions covered a broad spectrum of areas, including defense collaboration, trade enhancement, connectivity improvements, energy security, and regional diplomatic efforts. Both nations are keen on expanding their partnership across multiple sectors, reflecting a mutual interest in deepening ties.

Ahead of the 12th Türkiye-Qatar High Strategic Committee meeting slated to take place in Türkiye later this year, the leaders laid the groundwork by reviewing ongoing projects and potential new areas of cooperation. A significant part of their dialogue focused on fostering regional peace and stability, with particular attention to the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the situation in Gaza. The leaders exchanged insights on peace initiatives, aiming to mitigate regional tensions through dialogue.

Türkiye and Qatar’s collaboration continues to flourish, with both countries committed to increasing bilateral trade and enhancing their strategic partnership. The discussions in Doha highlight the shared determination to work closely in addressing regional challenges and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
