A suicide attack targeting a mosque within a police compound in Kohat, northwestern Pakistan, claimed the lives of at least 21 people and left approximately 80 others injured. The devastating incident took place during Friday prayers in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The attack unfolded as a suicide bomber drove a vehicle laden with explosives into the compound’s outer wall, followed by gunfire and a clash between armed attackers and security forces. Among the deceased were at least five police officers. No organization immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, although the Pakistani Taliban has denied any involvement.

In response to the attack, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the violence and expressing solidarity with Pakistan. The Kingdom reiterated its stance against assaults on places of worship and civilians, emphasizing a commitment to peace and security in the region.

Saudi Arabia extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for those injured in the attack. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely as investigations into the perpetrators progress.
