Leaders Address Regional Security: Pakistani PM Joins Saudi, Egyptian FMs in Talks

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, engaged in a series of diplomatic conversations on Monday, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and regional stability. He received a phone call from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, during which they discussed enhancing their countries’ relations and Pakistan’s mediation efforts in reducing regional tensions, aiming for security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed acknowledged Pakistan’s role and the efforts of all parties involved in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. He expressed Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s mediation endeavors, urging all involved parties to actively participate in these efforts to foster a conducive environment for negotiations. The ultimate goal is a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace in the region.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed communicated with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. Their discussion also revolved around strengthening bilateral ties and the recent developments in the region, particularly concerning the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. The Qatari Prime Minister reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of the drone attack on Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with the kingdom, supporting all measures to safeguard its security and the well-being of its citizens and residents.

In his conversation with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed underscored the importance of engaging with ongoing mediation efforts to address the crisis’s root causes through peaceful dialogue. This approach, he emphasized, is crucial for reaching a sustainable agreement that prevents further escalation.

Moreover, Sheikh Mohammed held talks with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. They reviewed bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. The discussions highlighted the necessity for all parties to respond positively to mediation efforts, aiming to resolve the crisis’s underlying issues through dialogue, thereby ensuring long-lasting peace and stability in the region.
