Qatar and Egypt have pledged to enhance their bilateral relations and broaden cooperation in several key sectors, including economics, investment, and labor. This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty. The discussions took place in Cairo, coinciding with the seventh session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee.
Both countries expressed satisfaction with the significant growth in economic connections, noting a remarkable 80 percent increase in trade between Qatar and Egypt in 2025. They also pointed to the expanding scope of Qatari investments in Egypt, highlighting a sustainable aviation fuel production project located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone as a major development.
The discussions also covered labor and consular cooperation, alongside regional developments. Both sides emphasized their dedication to reducing tensions and fostering stability in the region. They underscored the importance of ongoing coordination in Gaza and reiterated their commitment to pursuing diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts.
In addition to economic and diplomatic issues, Qatar and Egypt highlighted the importance of maritime security and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea. These efforts are seen as essential to safeguarding international trade routes and promoting regional stability.
